| Meet Toby who was a stray in Tennessee. He is now safe in a foster home in Alabama, working on gaining weight and getting healthy. He was anemic and had a kidney infection when he was rescued. The shelter was great to hem. They had him neutered, gave him his shots, and his last rotten teeth were pulled. HE weighed 3 pounds when he went into the shelter, and they got him up to almost 4 pounds. He is now at 4.9 pounds!!! He went back for followup bloodwork today. His vet bills so far have been $540. Toby must have cataract surgery very soon to save the sight in his left eye. The surgery will cost $1845. If he doesn't have it, he will be completely blind in his right eye and the cataract in his left eye will eventually take the sight in that eye and he will be completely blind.. The doctor recommends doing the surgery on the right eye now while he is healthy and can have it done. By the time the left eye matures, he may not be health enough for surgery.
