Poem about a
Rescue Dog
THE MEANING OF RESCUE

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.
Hmm... Yes there it is, right on the top
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things -
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?

Cody
Ummm...hi. My foster mom says I need to tell you about me. My name is Cody. All I have to say is that I am living the good life
now. Up until early August 2007, I was working at a puppymill. Not a really good job. Then my position was no longer needed
and my boss turned me over to a vet clinic to help me find a home. Then I came to my foster mom's house and she works
with Yorkie Friends Rescue. I am living the life now. I have soft beds to lay in and good food to eat. My mom says I am a
cuddle bug. I slept by her the first night I was here. She said that is not normal for puppymill dogs. I am very affectionate and
love to give kisses. I am a very social little guy. I am attempting to play with my parents and my fur siblings. I know how to play
with one of my brother, Stuart, only because we grew up together and came from the same mill. I love squeaker toys. There
are a lot of toys here to choose from. I also like to cuddle with them too. And my dad was working with a flashlight one night
and I thought it was so cool to chase the light on the floor. I know dad had fun watching and playing with me. I do bark a lot
when I am really happy and I am really happy living with my foster mom and dad. Now I am waiting for my perfect forever
family to come and find me. If you want to add to your family....I am an amazing catch. I do need some help on the potty
training only because I was never taught. If you would like more information about me, please contact my foster mom at:
slh_shorty@yahoo.com. I am located in Missouri and we do not ship our dogs.

Adoption Donation is $250.
Cody is a barker.  He loves to talk about everything.  It is thought that Cody is about 7 1/2 years old.  He is up to date on his
vaccines, heartworm negative and neutered.  He had a dental at the time of his surgery and lost about 10 teeth.
Cody's adoption donation is $250.
